Sunday, October 11, 2015, 1:45 PM - 3:00 PM
Location:
St. Patrick's Old Cathedral
In honor of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals, whose feast day is celebrated annually on October 4, the Basilica of St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral invites animals (other than human) and their owners (presumably human) to a service and blessing.
We are thankful for the role animals play in God’s plan for creation and the companionship they provide for us.
There will be a prayer of thanksgiving followed by individual blessings of animals. The blessings will occur in the Mott Street Courtyard, weather permitting.
All welcome. However, ferociously carnivorous or poisonous animals are asked to make special appointments.
